Community Guidelines
The Community Board works best when everyone follows these guidelines. They exist to keep information accurate, the community safe, and the space welcoming.
Be Accurate
Only share information you have personally verified or that comes from a reliable official source. Clearly label information as firsthand observation, secondhand report, or official source. Do not speculate or share rumors as fact.
Be Respectful
Everyone on this board is under stress. Treat all community members with dignity and kindness. Disagreements are acceptable; personal attacks, insults, and harassment are not.
Protect Privacy
Do not post other people's personal information (addresses, phone numbers, names) without their explicit consent. Use first names or initials when referring to individuals who have not identified themselves publicly.
No Solicitation
This board is for community coordination, not commercial activity. Do not post advertisements, solicit business, or promote paid services. Offering free help or supplies is welcome.
Emergencies Go to 911
This board is not monitored 24/7 and is not a substitute for emergency services. For any life-threatening situation, call 911 immediately. Do not post emergency situations here and wait for a response.
Flag, Don't Retaliate
If you see a post that violates these guidelines, use the flag button to report it to moderators. Do not respond with counter-attacks or attempt to publicly shame the poster.
Stay On Topic
Keep posts relevant to flood recovery, community needs, and local conditions. Political debates, unrelated community issues, and off-topic discussions should happen elsewhere.
Moderation: Community Board posts are moderated by Pagosa Flood Relief volunteers. We reserve the right to remove posts that violate these guidelines without notice.
Repeated violations may result in account suspension. To appeal a moderation decision or report a concern, contact coordinate@pagosafloodrelief.org.
